Compact Discs: The Revolution That Wasn't

Welcome to 1985, the year of the Compact Disc. Or was it? It's 1985, and CDs have been around for all of five years now, but have they really caught on?

We'll be honest, it's been a tough sell. People still prefer their cassettes and vinyl records, and the whole "digital" thing is just a bunch of mumbo-jumbo. But we're not ones to give up, no sir. We're gonna keep on spinning those CDs until everyone's got one.

But what's the deal with CDs, anyway? They're like, what, just a bunch of plastic discs with music on 'em? Where's the fun in that?
