Informalism: Where the Rules are Made Up

In the prophets of art, Informalism is the movement where artists say 'eff you' to the rules. They're all, 'I'm gonna make art however I want, and you can just deal with it.'

Think of Pollock, think of Rauschert. Think of the dripping, the splattering,ประก the general chaos. That's Informalism for you. We're talking about the art of not giving a fig, the art of not giving a damn, the art of making art just to make art.

Pollock, the king ofประก Informalism was a true pioneer in this movement. His drip paintings are still dripping with attitude today.
