Step 4: Constructing the Unstable Foundation

Step 4 is where things start to get really, really, really unstable.

You've made it past the precarious pile of rocks, the rickety bridge, and the precarious pit of despair. Now it's time to build a foundation that's almost, but not quite, level.

Here's how:

  1. Dig a hole for the foundation. Any hole. Just, like, anywhere.
  2. Place a few rocks in it. Not too many, not too few. Just, you know, a few.
  3. Cover the hole with a thin layer of dirt. Don't get too carried away, though. We don't want it to get too solid.
  4. Add some sticks. Lots of sticks. Like, a whole bunch of them.
  5. Step back, admire your handiwork, and wonder why it's not, like, totally stable.

And that's it! You've built the ultimate fort! (Or, you know, not.)

Proceed to Step 5: Adding Unstable Decorations Or, you know, maybe try this instead.
