Step 6: The Peril of Perfectionism

By this point, you're likely feeling quite smug. "I'm doing everything right," you're thinking. "I'm a true master of the rodeo." But let me tell you, friend, you're not. You're still a novice. A mere apprentice.

Perfectionism is a slippery slope. It's a never-ending cycle of self-criticism and disappointment. You'll never be perfect, and even if you were, what's the fun in that?

Consider the example of the infamous "Boulder Basher" of Red Rock Canyon. This behemoth of a rock climber spent years perfecting his craft, and what did it get him? A bruised ego and a herniated disk.

So, what's the alternative? The answer, my friend, is to aim for "good enough." Not perfect, not mediocre, just good enough. It's a liberating feeling, trust me.
