The Time Loop Theory

You've probably heard of the Butterfly Effect, but this is the Elephant Gun. One tiny action in a time loop can have a massive impact on the timestream.

Here's an example:

  1. You accidentally knock over a lamp in 1975, causing a chain reaction of events that leads to the invention of the Segway.
  2. The Segway, in turn, leads to the downfall of the world's economy in 1999.
  3. The economic collapse causes widespread panic, inspiring a group of rebels to start a time-traveling resistance in 2005.
  4. The resistance, armed with time-traveling technology, goes back in time and... well, you get the idea.
