The most basic yet effective method of silking an enemy insect. Simply place your hand in front of the insect's face, and with a loud, high-pitched wail, scream "I'M A HUMAN!"
This will momentarily stun the insect, giving you an opening to... well, do whatever it is you plan to do. Probably just run away, because let's face it, you're not exactly a skilled insect squasher.
