Ada Lovelace (aka "The Mother of Computing")
Ada Lovelace, born in 1815, is widely considered the first computer programmer. She's the one who wrote the first algorithm for a computer – the one Charles Babbage never built.
Alan Turing (aka "The Father of Computer Science")
Alan Turing, born in 1919, is known for breaking the German Enigma code, but also for being one of the first to recognize the importance of computers.
Jean Bartik (aka "The Human Computer")
Jean Bartik is an American mathematician who, in the 1940s, was hired for her math skills. She worked on calculations for the US Army and later helped build the first commercial computer.
