Unnecessary Variable Naming

A Study of Excess

In the depths of the Pythagorean Code War, a special class of variables was born.

These were the UnnecessaryVariablesOfTheAncients, created to confound and bewilder even the most skilled sorcerers of the code.

Their names told a story of grandeur and complexity:

• int iWillNeverBeUsedAgainInMyCode = 5;
• char theUnreadableCharacterVariable = 'A';
• float theMostComplicatedNumberVariableInTheWorld = 3.14;
• bool isThisVariableNecessary = true;
• double theDoubleOfSomething = 2.5;

And so the code grew, like a behemoth of complexity, until the programmers who created it could no longer understand their own handiwork.

And so the Code Wars began, with the Unnecessary Variables as the bane of the coding world.
