Etiquette: When to Speak

When to Speak is a comprehensive guide to speaking in public without getting punched in the face.

General Etiquette

ประก Don't speak when you're drunk.

ประก Don't speak when you're sober.

It's just a general rule, but it's a good starting point.

For instance, never say "I'm not a morning person" at 3 AM in a crowded coffee shop. Just keep that one to yourself, friend.

Sub-Section 1: Speaking in Public

When you're in public, speak like you're not trying to get punched in the face.

Use a normal voice, don't yell, and for the love of all things good and holy, don't use the phrase "I can see you from here!"

Also, don't speak to the mailman. He's just there to deliver the mail, not to listen to your inane ramblings.

Sub-Section 2: Speaking in Bed

When you're in bed, speak as much as you want. It's not like anyone can hear you or anything.

Unless you live with a bunch of other people who will definitely hear you and probably wake up and tell you to shut up.
