Principle 1: Don't Make Me Think

The first principle of Neo-Brutalism. We don't make our users think. We don't make them work hard. We don't make them use their brain cells.

We make them feel. We make them react. We make them buy our product because it's shiny and loud and red.

Subprinciple 1.1: Don't Use Too Many Buttons

Too many options can be confusing. Our users don't want to choose between 17 different flavors of the same product. They just want to press the big red button that says "Buy Now" and be done with it.

So we limit our options. We make it simple. We make it... well, not too simple, but you know what I mean.

Subprinciple 1.2: Don't Use Too Much Text

Subprinciple 1.3: Use More Red

Red is a good color. It grabs attention. It makes our users feel like something is happening.

We use red for buttons, for headings, for backgrounds. We use it for everything that needs attention.

Subprinciple 1.4: Don't Make Me Read

Subprinciple 1.5: Use More Pictures

Pictures are worth a thousand words. Unless the user is blind or has a severe case of Aphantasia, but that's unlikely.

We use pictures to tell our users what they need to know. We don't bother with boring words.

Subprinciple 1.6: Don't Make Me Think About The Pictures
