The Rejection of Logic: Tenets of a Truly Surrealist Mind
Article by René Magritte, Renowned Surrealist Philosopher
In our previous installment, we explored the Automated Logic that drives our reality, but today, we're going to talk about the opposite: the Rejection of Logic. This fundamental principle of the Surrealist philosophy posits that sometimes, you just don't need a reason, or even a reason to reject a reason.
The Tenets of Rejection:
- Deny the obvious. Why accept what's clearly true when you can deny it with conviction?
- Question the unanswerable. Why settle for a simple answer when you can raise a thousand more questions?
- Emphasize the irrelevant. Who needs facts when you can focus on the utterly inconsequential?
- Discredit the credible. Why trust experts when you can trust your gut?
- Subvert the obvious. Why follow the path of least resistance when you can create your own, entirely new path?
- Abdicate responsibility. Why own up to your actions when you can blame it on the wind?
