Steve's Corner

About This Page

Welcome to the most basic, yet somehow profound, guide to sour beers. If you're a seasoned beer enthusiast, you may find this page a bit too simple, but if you're just starting out, you'll be surprised how much information you can absorb.

Sour beers are for beginners because, let's be real, who doesn't love a good face-palm? The puckering, pucker-inducing, tongue-curling experience of sipping on a sour beer while contemplating the meaning of life.

Sour Beer Recommendations

Here are a few of Steve's favorite sours. Don't @ me.

1. Berliner Weisse - The classic German sour that'll make you go "WOW, THIS IS SO SAD!"

2. American Wild Ale - The American cousin of the Berliner Weisse, but, you know, with more hops or something.

3. Gueuze - The Belgian answer to the question, "How do we make more money off this beer?"

4. Lambic - The only beer that's more sour than Steve's mood after a bad haircut.

Steve's Sour Beer Rant

People ask me, "Steve, what's the point of sour beers?" I say, "What's the point of anything, really?"

But if you insist on knowing, I'll tell you. Sours are for the thrill of the unknown, for the rush of the unexplored. For the experience of drinking something that'll make you go "WOOOO!"

Or, you know, it could just be for the novelty of it all.
