Zipsters' Tips and Tricks: Zip Naming Conventions

Zipsters, the world's most elite group of data compressors, have a few tricks up their sleeves when it comes to naming their creations. But what's in a name, you ask? A lot, actually.

Read the rules of 1 for the basics of zip naming, then move on to rules of 2 for advanced techniques.

But don't get too excited, Zipsters' naming conventions are a cutthroat world.

Rules of 1: The Fundamentals

Rule 1: Zip names must be all-caps.

A zip named "MyZip.zip" is an abomination. A true Zipster's zip is named "MYZIP.ZIP".

Rules of 2: The Art of Subtle Sarcasm

Rule 2: Zip names must include a hint at the zip's contents, but not too obvious.

For example, a zip containing cat pictures would be better off with a name like "CATPICS.ZIP" than "CATPIECES.ZIP".

Rules of 3: The Unspoken Rule

Rule 3: Zip names must be no longer than 10 characters.

This one's a doozy. Zipsters have been known to get creative with abbreviations to squeeze in that extra character. But don't worry, it's all in good fun.
