Welcome to the completely underwhelming experience of Unsatisfying Music.
Here's a brief (and utterly dull) history:
• 3000 BCE: The earliest known evidence of unsatisfying music comes from ancient civilizations, where people would play the "Sumerian Sigh" on a single, repetitive drumbeat.
• 500 CE: The Romans develop the art of "Unsatisfying Cantata," where a lone flautist would play an endless loop of the same five notes over and over.
• 1800s: The Industrial Revolution introduces the "Mechanical Mallet" – a machine that plays a single, unchanging chord on repeat for hours on end.
• 1950s: Unsatisfying music becomes a staple of elevator music, with the likes of elevator operators being forced to play an endless loop of "The Wheels on the Busses" on repeat for the entirety of their careers.
• 1990s: The advent of digital technology allows for the creation of "Unsatisfying Loops," where a single 4-second clip of white noise is repeated ad infinitum.
• Present Day: You're here, and you're stuck listening to it.
