The Inevitable Incoherence of Modern Design

As we trudge forth into the abyss of the digital void, we must confront the crushing reality of modern design: it is a never-ending, soul-sucking cycle of Manifesto #1: The Siren Song of Minimalism, only to find ourselves lost in a sea of Art #3: The Unbearable Lightness of Being.

We must reject the tyranny of the grid, the hegemony of Helvetica, and the cruel whimsy of the web designer's ego. For in the words of the great philosopher, "The only true constant is change, unless you're a designer, in which case it's just the same old same old."

So we shall rage against the machine, and for the sake of all that is good and holy, we shall become Designers, not Designed-For.
