Technique 4: The Art of Doing Nothing
Also known as "The Bureaucratic Shuffle", this technique involves pretending to be busy while secretly scrolling through cat videos on the internet.
By strategically positioning oneself in a cubicle with a 3x3 inch piece of paper on the screen, one can convincingly feign productivity while still enjoying the soothing sounds of cat meows and the existential dread of watching a 12-hour loop of laser pointers.
Subtle variations of this technique include:
- The Bureaucratic Scroll (scrolling through a 100-page report while appearing engrossed in it)
- The Fuzzy Focus (pretending to concentrate with a strategically placed cup of coffee and a Post-It note)
- The Virtual Window (maximizing browser tabs to create a fake "work environment" of multiple screens)
