A Brief History of the Coffee Machine
In the year 2018, the break room was graced with a shiny new coffee machine. It was a behemoth of steel and plastic, a monolith of morning sustenance. But, like all things, it was not without its flaws.
It had a tendency to dispense lukewarm water and a faint scent of desperation. It was a harbinger of things to come.
And then, one fateful day, it broke. The machine, once a beacon of hope, had finally succumbed to the ravages of time and use.
The committee was formed, and thus, this proposal was born.
The Proposal
Section 1: The Problem Statement
We, the Break Room Safety Committee, propose the following:
To replace the current coffee machine with a new, more reliable model.
This new machine shall be equipped with:
- A built-in water reservoir that does not leak or overflow.
- A heating element that does not overheat and cause burns.
- A user interface that does not require a Ph.D. in engineering to operate.
Appendix: The Budget
We estimate the cost of the new machine to be around $5000, which we believe is a small price to pay for the safety and happiness of our break room users.
We also propose the creation of a "Coffee Machine Fund" to help offset the cost and ensure the machine's maintenance and repair are covered in the years to come.
Section 2: The Plan of Action
We propose the following timeline for the implementation of the new machine:
- Week 1-2: Research and purchase the new machine.
- Week 3-4: Install and test the new machine.
- Week 5-6: Train all users in the proper use and maintenance of the new machine.
Section 3: The Conclusion
We, the Break Room Safety Committee, believe that the implementation of the new coffee machine will bring a new era of safety and happiness to our break room. We propose that this proposal be accepted and the new machine be brought into service at the earliest possible opportunity.
