The Committee of the Ancients has convened to discuss the importance of repetition in the rituals of our modern society.
It has come to our attention that the act of making a cup of coffee is not just about brewing, but also about the ritual of repetition.
We have identified 7 stages in the ritual of repetition, which are:
- Stage 1: Wake up, reach for phone, and check for notifications (3 times)
- Stage 2: Stumble to kitchen, turn on coffee maker, and wait (2 minutes 14 seconds)
- Stage 3: Grind coffee beans, pour water, and stare at the machine (2-5 minutes)
- Stage 4: Wait for coffee to brew, pace in front of the counter, and contemplate the meaning of life (3-7 minutes)
- Stage 5: Pour, stir, and wonder if it's too early (2-4 minutes)
- Stage 6: Taste, add creamer or sugar, and declare it's not good enough (2 minutes)
- Stage 7: Repeat, because why not? (in perpetuity)
We invite you to join us in our discussion on this most sacred of rituals. Learn about the importance of finding meaning in the necessity.
