Bernice the Bemused is a member of the Committee of Conundrums, a group of individuals renowned for their ability to find the most obscure and confusing ways to solve problems.

Despite being a member of this committee, Bernice has managed to get lost in the meeting room more times than she can count.

Her colleagues have taken to calling her "Bemused" due to her tendency to become so engrossed in a conundrum that she forgets what year it is.
