The Committee of Conundrums: Agenda for the Meeting on 2024-03-01

Meeting 3: The Ethics of Virtual Reality in the Workplace

Chairman, Zorvath P. Bottomsworth III, called the meeting to order at 10:00 AM sharp. He began by asking the members to report on their findings on the ethics of virtual reality in the workplace.

Member 1, Bertha V. Bottoms, spoke first, presenting her research on the psychological effects of VR on employees' mental health.

"We have found that VR can cause increased anxiety, decreased productivity, and a higher risk of developing 'Virtual Reality-Induced Nausea Syndrome' (VRINS), a condition characterized by a sudden and intense feeling of being trapped in a never-ending loop of meetings," she said, as she presented her slides.

Next up was Member 2, Balthazar McSnazz, who discussed the economic implications of implementing VR in the workplace.

"If we adopt VR, we'll need to hire more IT staff to maintain the servers, and our employees will need more frequent eye exams to prevent 'VR Eye Strain Syndrome,'" he said, as he clicked through his PowerPoint presentation.

Member 3, Zephyr Wizzle, spoke about the potential benefits of VR, including increased employee engagement and reduced need for coffee breaks.

"With VR, our employees will be so engrossed in their work, they'll forget they're even working," she said, as she demoed her latest VR prototype.

The meeting concluded with a vote to adopt VR in the workplace, with 7 members in favor, 3 abstaining, and 1 member mysteriously disappearing into a virtual reality simulation.

A motion to adopt VR was tabled until further research is conducted.
