Established in 1956, the OXYMELON COMMITTEE has been the premier organization for the study and appreciation of Oxymelons, the ancient Greek word for "a figure of speech in which two or more words, or phrases, with opposite or contradictory meanings, are combined in a single sentence or phrase." Our committee has been dedicated to exploring the intricacies of this fascinating linguistic phenomenon.
Our founding members, a group of erudite scholars and wordplay enthusiasts, were drawn together by their shared passion for the oxymelic arts. Under their leadership, the committee has grown to become a hub for the world's most accomplished oxymelonists, pushing the boundaries of language and creativity.
