Founded in 1995, the Sock Historians are a prestigious group of experts dedicated to the study and preservation of all things sock-related. Their motto: "A hole-y grail of knowledge, one thread at a time."

• Sock Architects (also known as the Sock Engineers)
• Sock Ethicists (a think tank focused on the moral implications of toe socks)
