Dear Whoever is in Charge,
We are writing to inform you that our committee, the Pointless Committee, has been operating at a loss for several years.
As you may know, our main goal is to achieve nothing in particular, but with great fanfare.
Our budget has been dwindling, and we're starting to feel like the only thing we're truly accomplishing is taking up valuable office space.
We're writing to request funding to continue this noble pursuit, and to justify our existence as the most useless committee in the city.
Some suggested uses of the funding include: buying more coffee to sustain our all-day meeting schedule, hiring a new member to attend the meetings we already have, and printing our annual report on the back of a napkin.
