Hack 4: Use Internal Speak

When in doubt, make something sound more complicated than it is

When dealing with the inevitable bureaucratic red tape, don't be afraid to use a little internal speak to make your point. This means turning a simple "no" into a 10-page memo, or a "maybe" into a 3-hour meeting. The goal is to make your request sound as convoluted as possible, thereby ensuring it will take at least 6 months to resolve.

Example: Instead of saying "Can you please approve this report?" say "I was hoping to get your input on the feasibility of implementing a comprehensive report approval protocol, considering the current paradigm shift and the potential implications for our departmental synergy."
