Step 2: Write a Vague Mandate
We're glad you made it this far! Now it's time to craft the perfect vague mandate.
We recommend using the following template:
- Whereas the committee is of the opinion that...
- ...we should totally do something or other.
- Therefore, it is decreed that...
- ...we will sort of maybe do something.
- By the power vested in us, we hereby...
- ...declare that this is a real thing and not just a joke.
Example:
Whereas the committee is of the opinion that the sky is blue... ...we should totally do something or other. Therefore, it is decreed that... ...we will sort of maybe do something. By the power vested in us, we hereby... ...declare that this is a real thing and not just a joke.
Subcommittee: Vagueness and Confusion
For an extra layer of complexity, consider adding a subcommittee to deal specifically with vagueness and confusion.
Members of the subcommittee will be tasked with:
- Defining the meaning of "vague" and "confuse".
- Explaining why the sky is blue.
- Debating the meaning of "totally do something or other".
