Step 5: Attend Meetings
Because Who Doesn't Love Sitting in a Windowless Room for Hours?
As a valued member of this pointless committee, you're expected to attend meetings. Lots and lots of meetings. In fact, we've got meetings about meetings, meetings about the meetings about meetings, and meetings about what to do with all the meeting minutes.
Here are some tips to help you make the most of your meeting time:
- Arrive early to grab the last remaining donut from the conference table.
- Bring a notebook to take notes, but only to pretend you're taking notes. Nobody actually reads this stuff.
- Use the time to practice your "I'm interested, but I have a meeting" face.
- Make sure to bring a pen that's not too dull, but not too sharp. You don't want to risk poking a hole in the conference table.
