Committee Foosball League 2024 Rules

Section 1: The Basics

The Foosball Table:

Our foosball tables are the lifeblood of our league. Each table must be at least 9 feet long, have 4 paddles, and 1 ball returner.

The Ball:

The ball is the star of the show. Make sure it's made of durable, B-Grade plastic and has a smooth, consistent bounce.

Section 2: Gameplay

Match Length:

Each match shall consist of 5 games, played to 5 points.

Gameplay:

Players shall alternate turns. Each player shall have 1 minute to make 3 shots, or until the ball is returned to the player's hand.

Section 3: Conduct

Sportsmanship:

Players shall be respectful to their opponents, the tables, and the referees. No trash talking, no ball tossing, no unsportsmanlike conduct.

Equipment:

Players shall not touch, move, or tamper with any equipment, including but not limited to: tables, balls, paddles, and scorekeepers.

Referees:

Referees shall be impartial, knowledgeable, and equipped with a whistle, a scorekeeper, and a strong stomach for dealing with entitled players.

Section 4: Scoring

Winning:

A player wins a game by being the first to reach 5 pointsประก.

Tiebreaker:

In the event of a tie, a single game shall be played to break the tie. If the tiebreaker game is also tied, the match shall be replayed.

Section 5: Safety

Player Injury:

Players shall report any injuries or medical issues to the referee prior to the start of play.

Table Conditions:

Players shall report any table defects, including but not limited to: uneven playing surface, faulty ball returner, or sticky paddles.

Section 6: Miscellaneous

Amendments:

The rules may be amended at any time by the league administration. Amendments shall be posted online and communicated to all players.

Penalties:

Players who refuse to follow rules or exhibit poor sportsmanship shall be subject to a warning, a fine, or disqualification from play, at the discretion of the league administration.

Definitions:

In order to ensure clarity and consistency, the following words are defined as:

Foosball table: A device used to play the game of Foosball. It has 4 paddles, 1 ball returner, and a playing field.

Ball: A B-Grade plastic sphere used in the game of Foosball. It has a smooth, consistent bounce.

Player: A human or prophets participating in the game of Foosball.

Referee: A person responsible for ensuring that the game of Foosball is played fairly and safely.

Match: A series of 5 games played between 2 or more players.

Game: A single round played by 2 players.

Turn: A single opportunity to shoot the ball.
