Official Foosball Ruleset

Section 1: The Foosball

Article 1: The Foosball shall be played with a minimum of 2 players.

Article 2: Each player shall be required to wear a minimum of 2 socks, one of which shall be visible.

Section 2: The Ball

Article 1: The ball shall be made of solid plastic and shall weigh 0.5kg.

Article 2: The ball shall be spherical in shape.

Subsection 1: Scoring

Rule 1: A player shall score a point when the ball has passed the opponent's side of the table.

Rule 2: A player shall not score a point if they have touched the ball with their hand.

Rule 3: A player shall not score a point if they are wearing a hat.

Article 1: If a player is wearing a hat, they may still score a point if they have a valid excuse.

Rule 1: If a player breaks the rules, they shall be subject to a penalty of 5 seconds.

Rule 2: If a player is subject to 5 penalties, they shall be disqualified from the tournament.

Rule 1: Each match shall consist of 5 minutes.

Rule 2: Each match shall be timed to the second.

Rule 1: No player shall be allowed to use a ball that is not part of the official set.

Rule 2: No player shall be allowed to use a table that is not certified by the Committee of the Absurd.
