Committee of the Year Award Rules

Article 1: Eligibility

Any committee that meets the following criteria is eligible for the Committee of the Year Award:

  1. Must meet at least once a month for a minimum of 2 hours
  2. Must have at least 5 members, but no more than 15
  3. Must have a quorum (but not necessarily a quorum of quorums)

Article 2: Judging Criteria

Judges will evaluate committees based on the following criteria:

  1. Originality of meeting minutes (i.e., how many creative uses of the phrase "Motion to adjourn")
  2. Number of committee-created jargon terms used in a single meeting
  3. Proportion of time spent discussing actual agenda items to time spent arguing over who ate the last donut

A panel of expert judges will review all applications and select the winner.

Article 3: Award

The winner of the Committee of the Year Award will receive:

  1. A trophy made from recycled committee meeting notes
  2. A year's supply of coffee (or equivalent)
  3. A 30-minute break during their next meeting to watch cat videos
