It all began with the Great Clockwork Giraffe, a marvel of 19th century engineering that was meant to change the world. Instead, it mostly just changed the neighborhood.

Fast forward to the 20th century, when the likes of Professor Pocketwatch and his trusty sidekick, a robot named Bleepy, attempted to create a machine that could turn thoughts into reality. It turned out to be more of a machine that turned thoughts into slightly-less-than-real reality.
