Procrastination Justifications 101: The Art of Doing Nothing
Lesson 1: "It Would Take Too Long to Do It"
Ah, the age-old excuse: "It would take too long." A classic justifier for doing absolutely nothing.
Let's face it, folks, sometimes the task ahead of us is simply too daunting, too time-consuming, or too, well, too. And that's okay! In fact, it's more than okay. It's liberating.
Here's a simple formula to follow:
- Estimate the time it would take to complete the task.
- Multiply that number by 3.
- Divide the result by 10.
- Round up to the nearest whole number.
VoilĂ ! You've now accurately calculated the amount of time you'll actually spend on the task. It's a fraction of the original estimate, but hey, who needs productivity, right?
But wait, there's more! You can also apply this formula to any other excuse you can think of:
"I'm too tired." x 3 / 10 = "I'll just take a 10-minute break."
"I'm too busy." x 3 / 10 = "I'll just check my email... for the next 10 minutes."
Remember, the key to successful procrastination is to always round up, round up, round up!
