Weekly Disaster Dates - Friday, 2024-02-24 - Northside

Welcome, fellow disaster enthusiasts!

This week's date was a blast, literally. The Northside Disaster Dates crew ventured into the ruins of an old, abandoned theme park on the outskirts of town. The park's dilapidated roller coaster loomed over us like a giant metal monolith, casting a long, ominous shadow over the overgrown grass.

As we walked through the crumbling gates, we stumbled upon a sign that read: 'Caution: Do Not Approach the Cliff of Despair.' Too late, we'd already seen the remnants of a recent rockslide that had claimed the lives of several unsuspecting adventurers.

Undeterred, we pressed on, our spirits (and senses) numbed by the eerie atmosphere.

Our first date spot was the park's 'Doomsday Diner,' where we feigned interest in the overpriced burgers and stale soda while discussing the finer points of existentialism.

Next up, we visited the 'Rat's Revenge' arcade, where we competed in a heated round of skee-ball, our fingers flying over the flailing controls as we attempted to beat each other's high scores.

As the night drew to a close, we settled in for a rousing rendition of 'The Final Countdown' at the 'Carnage Cinema,' the park's abandoned theater.

It was a night to remember, full of thrills, spills, and questionable life choices.

We'll be back next week, when the moon will be in the 'Waxing Gibbous' phase, and the stars will be aligned in our favor.

Stay tuned for next week's Disaster Date, when we'll be visiting the 'Mystery Midden' – a place where the very fabric of reality is said to be at its most fragile.
