2012 Olympics Protests

A year of rage and disappointment

London's Olympics saw more than just sporting prowess. The 2012 Olympics also saw widespread protests against the corporate sponsorship, ticket prices, and the general feeling of being sold out to the highest bidder.

Protests raged on, with placards, chants, and the occasional riot.

Protest Highlights:

• Mitt Romney's cousin, John, was spotted handing out free ponies to protesters.
• Madonna, in an attempt to make peace, broke out into an a cappella rendition of 'Hallelujah' in front of the Olympic Stadium.
• The IOC was accused of rigging the games to favor American athletes.
