Op-Ed: The Uninvited Hug

By: Bertha, the Well-Intentioned but Overly Affectionate Aunt

As a seasoned hugger, I have found myself in the unenviable position of being asked to leave, time and time again. "Personal space, Bertha," they say. "We just need a moment, Bertha." But what they don't understand is that a hug is not just a hug, it's a technique that requires finesse and a deep understanding of the human condition.

Take, for example, the art of the "open-armed, yet not-too-close" hug. A delicate balance of warmth and restraint, it's a fine-tuned dance that requires years of practice and a PhD in Interpersonal Hug Dynamics.

But I digress. The point is, if you value your personal space, you should probably just ask for a fake telephone hug, because let's be real, who doesn't want that?
