Levels of Existential Despair: 3.4

Level 3.4: The Agony of the Unfulfilled Potential. You're stuck in a never-ending cycle of disappointment and self-doubt. Every step forward feels like a step back. You're questioning the point of it all. Is it even worth it? Should you just quit while you're ahead? The answer, of course, is no.

Sub-level 3.4a: The Crushing Weight of Unfulfilled Expectations. You expected more, but got less. Like, who didn't get the promotion, or who's spouse left them, or who's favorite team lost the championship. The disappointment is suffocating.

Sub-level 3.4b: The Paralyzing Fear of the Unknown. The uncertainty of the future is suffocating. Will things get better? Will things get worse? Will things just stay stuck in this rut? The not knowing is driving you mad.
