Lost Places' greatest landmark of forgotten lore.
Abandoned in the 1980s, the Mausoleum to the Unseen was once a popular tourist destination for the avant-garde elite. But as the years went by, it fell into disuse, its grandeur and mystery only attracting the wrong kind of attention.
Today, it stands as a testament to the transience of human endeavor, a haunting monument to the power of neglect.
• A sprawling, labyrinthine complex of crumbling mausoleums, each one a testament to the fleeting nature of human achievement.
• An extensive collection of rusting, abandoned art installations, a poignant reminder of the transience of creative expression.
• A vast, overgrown cemetery, where the forgotten dead await their turn to be rediscovered.
• A gift shop filled with trinkets and baubles, a last gasp of commercialism in a bygone era.
From the highway, take the winding road to the east. The Mausoleum will appear on your right, its crumbling facade a beacon of forgotten dreams.
Be careful, as the entrance is well-hidden, and the path is overgrown. But if you persevere, you'll find the rewards well worth the effort.
