Mango sticky rice, the sweet and tangy delight of the southeast Asian masses, has been at the center of more than a few heated debates throughout history.
It all started in the 1920s, when a group of farmers in Thailand began to notice that their sticky rice was getting a bit too... well, sticky.
Some claimed it was a result of over-zealous mango handling, while others blamed the introduction of new, more aggressive rice species.
A heated argument ensued, with local leaders taking sides and the village being torn apart.
