The 1st Edition of the Neo-Brutalist Manifesto

WHEREAS we, the undersigned architects of this manifesto, believe that the current state of web design is a travesty;

WHEREAS said travesty is a direct result of the tyranny of "user experience" and the blandishments of "accessibility";

WHEREAS we, as visionaries and aesthetes, demand a new era of website design that defies the mundane and the banal;

WHEREAS we are tired of the same old cookie-cutter templates and the stifling conformity of the status quo;

WHEREAS we, as champions of the Neo-Brutalist cause, will no longer stand idly by as websites continue to assault our eyes with their soulless, Helvetica-ized blandness;

WE, THE NEO-BRUTALISTS, THEREFORE, PROPOSE THE FOLLOWING:

A new era of website design, where the bold and the brash are celebrated, where the ugly and the awkward are cherished, and where the user is not the center of the universe.
