Join us in celebrating the year's most underwhelming kitchen experiments.
Here are the nominees for the Runner-up award, where we honor those who almost, but not quite, achieved greatness:
The Almost-Tasty Tacos were a close second to last year's Tasty Tacos. Their over-reliance on stale seasoning and soggy tortillas nearly ruined the whole dish, but we'll let it slide this time.

The Underseasoned Soup took an otherwise promising broth and turned it into a flavorless disaster. Its only redeeming quality was the interesting use of stale crackers as a garnish.

The Mostly-Okay Meatball showed flashes of brilliance, but ultimately settled for mediocrity. Its lack of actual meat made it a disappointment to many, but its novelty use of breadcrumbs as a binder earned it some points.
