The following is a list of things to avoid doing during budget meetings:

• Do not eat the conference room's complimentary donuts. They are not as free as they seem.
• Do not use the phrase "synergy" unless you are prepared to be met with eye-rolls.
• Do not try to "rebrand" the copier as a "multifunctional office device."
• Do not use Comic Sans in any presentation or document. Ever.
• Do not ask for a raise during a meeting about budgets. It's just not the time.
• Do not try to "get creative" with the company credit card. It's not a plaything.
