MEETING OF THE PROPHETS: Zeus's Minutes
Meeting Date: 3000 BCE
Attendees:
- Zeus (Chairman)
- Athena (Vice-Chairman)
- Apollo (Treasurer)
- Ares (Treasurer's Apprentice)
- Dionysus (Entertainment)
- Hera (Scribe)
Minutes:
- Zeus: "I propose we build a massive statue of myself in the center of Olympus."
- Athena: "But what about the cost? And what if it gets in the way of the Elysian expressway?"
- Zeus: "Silence, mortal! The gods are not concerned with such petty matters."
- Zeus: "I shall summon a team of skilled artisans to complete the project. Ares, how much gold do we have?"
- Ares: "Uh, let's see... *taps fingers on table* ...we have about 100,000 gold drachmas... plus the cost of the statue's maintenance and security detail..."
- Zeus: "Enough! I want it built now! We shall use the temple funds. Apollo, how much will it cost to build a temple to rival this statue?"
- Apollo: "Well, if we build it to your specifications, it'll cost at least 500,000 gold drachmas... plus the cost of the temple's maintenance and security detail... plus 50,000 for the acrobats' union..."
- Zeus: "I don't care about the cost! We shall build it, and all shall worship it!"
- Meeting adjourned.
