Sleep Studies: Methodology - Fieldwork
2022/02/01
Research Notes:
- Conducted 50 in-depth interviews with sleepy individuals
- Observed 200 hours of sleep patterns in 3D
- Deployed 5 sleep trackers with varying degrees of accuracy
Key Findings:
- Most participants reported sleeping 8 hours per night, but 5 reported sleeping on the couch
- 3D scans revealed 2 instances of sleep walking, 1 instance of sleep eating, and 1 instance of sleep talking to a cat
- Trackers malfunctioned 3 times due to user error and 2 times due to spontaneous combustion
Next Steps:
- Recruit 10 more participants for the "Sleep on the Floor" study
- Pivot to "Wakefulness Studies" and explore morning routines
- Develop new trackers with better user error resistance and less chance of combustion
