The Great and Powerful Meeting Attendee Manifesto

Article 1: The Right to Be Present but Not Engaged

We, the attendants, declare that it is our right to be physically present in meetings, yet mentally absent, as we see fit.

We will not be bound by the chains of productivity or the shackles of attention.

Our minds are free to roam the vast expanse of our own interests, unfettered by the petty concerns of others.

Resolution 1: The Right to Multitask with Dignity

We, the attendants, resolve that it is our right to multitask with the utmost dignity, juggling multiple screens, conversations, and tasks without so much as a hint of shame or embarrassment.

Our Pledge:

To uphold the principles of this Manifesto, we pledge to:

  1. Be present, yet not be present
  2. Engage, yet not engage
  3. Attend, yet not attend
  4. To multitask with the utmost dignity, always
