The Meeting that Time Forgot

It started like any other meeting. The fluorescent lights flickered, the projector whirred, and the conference room was filled with the sweet scent of stale coffee.

The participants, a motley crew of cubicles dwellers, shuffled in like zombies, each one more lost than the last. They found their seats, arranged themselves in a semi-circle, and waited for the meeting to begin.

But then, something strange happened. Time itself seemed to get lost. The clock on the wall ticked along, but at a rate that defied comprehension. The minutes felt like hours, the hours like years.

As the meeting dragged on, the participants began to lose their minds. One of them started to talk about his cat, another about his fantasy football team. Another just stared blankly into space, her eyes wide with the horror of it all.

And so, the meeting continued. A never-ending, mind-numbing exercise in tedium. But then, just as suddenly as it had begun, it was over. The participants filed out, each one more confused than the last, into the bright, harsh light of reality.
