Minute of Silence: A Guide
When the going gets tough, the tough get quiet. In a world where meetings are always loud, we've created the Minute of Silence. A time to reflect, recharge, and rediscover the meaning of life.
Step 1: Find a quiet corner
Step away from the conference table and into a peaceful corner of your office. Leave your phone, coffee, and judgmental coworkers behind.
Step 2: Close your eyes
Close your eyes to all distractions, including the fluorescent lights overhead. Visualize a peaceful waterfall, a serene beach, or your favorite childhood memory.
Step 3: Inhale the silence
Inhale the stillness, the quiet, the anticipation. Fill your lungs with the scent of freshly brewed coffee from the break room.
Step 4: Exhale your expectations
Release all hope and despair, your dreams and aspirations. Leave your expectations at the door, like last week's laundry.
Step 5: Open your mouth (optional)
Speak your truth, your thoughts, your innermost fears. Or, you know, just don't.
Step 6: Repeat as necessary
Return to steps 1-5 until you've reached enlightenment, or your meeting is over. Whichever comes first.
Possible Explanations for Your Silence
- I was just collecting my thoughts, you see.
- I was communing with the divine.
- I was recharging my batteries, or my coffee.
- I was contemplating the meaning of life, or the meeting.
- I was practicing my poker face for the next presentation.
