MEETINGS: THE ESSENTIAL USER GUIDE
Warning: The contents of this page are highly addictive and may lead to excessive meeting-ing.
Step 1: Prepare
- Don't eat a whole pizza by yourself before the meeting.
- Wear a suit, but not a too-tight one, you're here to make friends.
- Bring your A-game, but not your A-Game, that's just not a thing.
Step 2: Attend
- Arrive on time. No, seriously, show up at least 5 minutes early.
- Be prepared to talk, but only if you have something interesting to say.
- No talking about your cat's medical issues, that's not a meeting topic.
Step 3: Contribute
- Bring ideas, but not too many. We're not here to out-brainstorm you.
- Be kind, and try not to get too caught up in the meeting vortex.
- If you get lost in the meeting, just ask someone to pass the agenda.
Step 4: Follow-Up
- Send a follow-up email, but make sure it's not too follow-up-y.
- Don't forget to follow through on your promises, or you'll have to meet with the meeting police.
- Be a team player, but don't play too many team sports, you might get hurt.
