Where the Minutes are Miserable
In a world where time is currency, the Empire has everything under control. Literally, everything. Time is harvested from the very fabric of existence, forcing the masses to live in perpetual dread of the next minute's arrival.
Here's a brief history of the Empire's reign of terror:
- Year 1: The Empire was founded by the great and powerful, Emperor Tick Tock, who declared "Time is Power!" as his first and only edict.
- Year 5: The first time thieves were hunted down and executed for their crimes. Their families were left with nothing but the memories of their loved ones, and the weight of an eternity of debt to the Empire.
- Year 10: The first Time Reforms were introduced, allowing citizens to trade years of their lives for luxury goods and services. A clever way to keep the population in line, and the economy afloat.
But, of course, all is not well in the Empire. Rumors have been circulating about a rebellion, led by the enigmatic and feared, Lord Timekeeper.
