According to the sacred texts, the following prophecies were foretold by the great seer, Zorvath, on the first day of the new year.
A great calamity shall befall the land, for it is foreseen that the world's socks shall vanish in a most inexplicable manner, only to reappear in the most unlikely of places, like the kitchen sink, under the bed, or even in the belly of the family cat.
But fear not, for from the ashes of this calamity, a new era of sock-based innovation shall arise, and the people shall prosper in their newly-socked feet.
