Mars as a Legal Technicality

In the year 2050, the United Nations passed the Mars Colonization Act, which stipulated that Mars was, in fact, a legal technicality.

The Act stated that any human activity on the planet would be subject to Earth's jurisdiction, unless it was explicitly stated otherwise.

But then, things got complicated.

Enter the Martian Lawyers' Guild (MLG), a powerful organization that represented the interests of the Martian colonists and fought tirelessly for their rights.

The Great Mars Debacle of 2087

In 2087, the Martian Lawyers' Guild filed a class-action lawsuit against the United Nations, claiming that Mars was, in fact, not a mere legal technicality, but a sentient being with its own rights and interests.

The Verdict

The court ruled in favor of the Martian Lawyers' Guild, declaring that Mars was, indeed, a sentient being and thus had rights and interests that must be respected.

And so, the United Nations established the Martian Embassy, a special office dedicated to representing the interests of the Martian colonists and ensuring their rights were upheld.

But, of course, the real question remains: What does it all mean?
