We've all been there. The meeting where Betsy, our beloved but slightly unhinged colleague, has a complete breakdown and starts spilling all her deepest, darkest secrets to the entire team.
It started innocently enough. A discussion about the new coffee machine that just went in, and how it's "not as good as the one we had before." But quickly, things took a turn for the worse. Betsy began talking about her cat, Mr. Whiskers, and how he's been acting weird lately. Then, she started in on her therapist, Dr. Smith, and how he's been "not helping as much as she thought he would."
The room fell silent. We all stared at Betsy, unsure of what to say or do. Some of us tried to change the subject, but Betsy would have none of it. She kept talking, and talking, and talking, until finally, she broke down in tears.
We're not sure what was more surprising, the fact that Betsy was having an emotional breakdown, or the fact that she was actually wearing a "I'm with Stupid" t-shirt underneath her button-down. It was a real moment of clarity, and we all knew we had to do something to help our beloved Betsy.
So, we decided to give her an emotional overhaul. We brought in the experts, and they worked with Betsy to get her to a place where she could function again in a normal office environment. It wasn't easy, but we got through it.
And now, Betsy's back to her old self. Well, maybe not her old self. Maybe she's even better. She's still a little quirky, but we love her for it. After all, she's still the same Betsy we've all grown to love.
